Daniel Rauschenbach and Rauschenbach Studio's Website

Documenting the footsteps of the journey through creating. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Youngstown State University in Ohio, a solid foundation was achieved. My focus in college was spatial arts. This allowed for conceptual development in ceramics and sculpture. Throughout my life traveling to discover different landscapes has resulted in a love for painting. Trying to create a contemporary painting style has dealt many directions traveled. From the fields of North Carolina to the Peak District of England being able to travel with watercolors and paper has allowed for plein air painting. Watercolor creates a nostalgic memory of when I was first being taught how to paint at my grandmother’s table as a toddler. Many years later away from that table the journey lead to the settings of Maine. Maine has provided a haven of landscapes from sea to the mountains. The folks of Maine have created an influence in the style uniquely deep seeded. Having a series of explanations or interpretations behind each piece puts a social companionship between the people and the landscape. Allowing for colorful interpretations captured in watercolors.
